Mr. Kleinops was a founding member and successfully launched the Corporate Receivables Program (CRP) at The Receivables Exchange (RECX), the first electronic exchange for the sale and purchase of trade receivables. He has a proven track record of placing over $2 billion in corporate trade receivables with alternative investors including, hedge funds, banks and family offices.
Mr. Kleinops developed a strong presence in Latin America, placing over $250 million in Brazilian trade receivables across the credit spectrum from Investments Grade to Unrated Corporate entities. He then expanded the company’s reach into commodities, selling over $500 million in receivables tied to shipments of crude oil, ethanol, coal and various soft commodities across the globe.
Prior to RECX, Mr. Kleinops spent five years running Thomson Reuters LPC’s valuation business, and was a well-regarded commentator on the U.S leveraged loan, CLO and high-yield bond markets.
Holding a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Southern Methodist University, Mr. Kleinops is a thought leader within the trade finance community and an advocate of promoting the asset class with non-traditional investors.
