Lou Di Cerbo

Lou Di Cerbo is responsible for legal, regulatory and contractual matters at Matrix Global. His broad and deep expertise includes the trading and clearing of listed and over-the-counter (OTC) derivative products tied to energy commodities and financial indexes. His experience encompasses CFTC and NFA regulation, Dodd-Frank Title VII, exchange and clearinghouse matters, ISDA and derivatives-clearing documentation, vendor technology contracts and project management.

Before moving into his current role in 2019, Mr. Di Cerbo spent four years working as an independent legal and compliance consultant, working with Matrix Global as well as banks, corporations and other institutions that trade and utilize listed and OTC derivatives. Previously, he was employed for more than a decade in the legal department of Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he provided legal support to the firm’s FCM and interest rate swap businesses. At BAML, his work also included major initiatives, such as Dodd-Frank implementation, the migration of Bank of America Securities’ futures business to Merrill Lynch and the negotiation of FCM and ISDA documentation with BAML’s clients. During his tenure at the firm, Mr. Di Cerbo served on the executive committee for the Futures Industry Association’s Law & Compliance Division (2006-2012).

Mr. Di Cerbo’s financial industry experience extends beyond legal and compliance matters. He marketed OTC derivatives while at First Chicago Capital Markets (now JP Morgan). He also worked as an agency bond structurer at Morgan Keegan & Co.

He holds a B.A. in history and government magna cum laude from Hamilton College. He earned his J.D. from the Boston University School of Law.
