Crimson Midstream and MPLX has announced a binding open season on the Swordfish Pipeline to solicit bids from prospective shippers for transportation service.
The companies are jointly developing the pipeline to connect terminal facilities in St. James and Raceland, Louisiana, to the Louisiana Offshore Oil Port (LOOP) terminal facility in Clovelly, Louisiana.
The binding open season will end Nov. 30, 2018 at noon CST.
Reportedly, the Swordfish Pipeline will be a multi-diameter batched system to transport up to 600,000 barrels of crude oil per day.
The Matrix model at LOOP allows storage operators to leverage the optionality inherent in storage contracts, a standardized storage futures contract provides the storage operator an opportunity to capture the value of a steeper contango.
